CRI to Host USABA LTA Development Camp
May 29 - June 4, 2015

In partnership with USRowing and Community Rowing, Inc., the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA), is pleased to host an adaptive rowing camp for rowers with physical disabilities and identify potential candidates for participation in the Paralympic Games. The camp will be held in Boston, MA at Community Rowing.

The camp is open to male and female participants but is limited to those eligible for the LTA (Legs, Trunks & Arms) Paralympic boat class. Generally speaking, rowers who can use a sliding seat, such as someone with a visual impairment or with single-leg or single-arm involvement, are in the LTA class.

Athletes with disabilities who are currently rowing or have previous rowing experience or who have a high level of fitness and a competitive athletic background are strongly encouraged to apply.Veterans and Active Duty Service Members with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

This program was funded in part by a grant by the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. Program fees for non-military athletes will be no more than $375 and include all components of the camp (accommodations, ground transportation, meals, equipment, training, etc.).  We endeavor to subsidize these fees for the benefit of qualified candidates. Travel will be the responsibility of the participant.

Applications must be submitted no later than April 15.

Virtual Team Challenge Update
Deadline for Entering Meters Rowed is Tonight!

We're at about 22 million meters, with CBC only 300,000 meters behind us. CRI ergers unite! Tuesday (today), is the LAST day to erg your meters. If you erged it before midnight on January 31, record it by the end of the day Tuesday.

We'll give the final team total after today, and we'll  be posting certificates on the Weight Room glass wall for everyone who rowed. Congrats to Theresa Welsh who rowed a dazzling 824, 224 meters during January. In comparison, the author of this message rowed a thoughtful, considered 23,000 meters.

Too bad we can't add shoveling to our erg totals. Thanks to everyone who participated. It's the only all-club athletic event we all row on one team.
