New Boat Announcement
CRI Will Replace 73 Rowing Shells

CRI is very pleased to have announced yesterday the exciting news that Community Rowing, Inc. has signed a contract to replace 73 rowing shells which will allow us to deliver the best possible rowing experience for every rower who comes to CRI. The new boats are being made by HUDSON Boat Works of London, Ontario, Canada.

"Our goal with this equipment plan is to give every rower at our boathouse the best possible rowing experience with the care and respect we believe they deserve," said CRI President Lila McCain. "This big investment aligns perfectly with our mission to bring the sport of rowing to the underserved and underrepresented communities in Boston."

For details about the boats, comments from directors and more, read the full announcement on the CRI Website at the following link:

Virtual Team Challenge Update
Splashing About in the Pacific!!

Splashing about in the Pacific
6.3 million meters + 238 rowers = CRI's virtual arrival in the far reaches of the Pacific ocean.  Picture turquoise blue waters, soft breezes and unseen but friendly fish.  Keep rowing!  You have untilThursday, January 15 to start to enter meters.  The rules state that no team member can be added or deleted after January 15, so you can still join.

If you're planning on handwriting meters at CRI on the clipboard: please log meters January 14 or before so we know you're an active participant.  Otherwise, we'll have to delete you on the January 15 deadline so the roster reflects active rowers.

Contact Ruth Morss at: rmorss1@gmail.com if you have any issues.

We've had an increase of well over 170 rowers since last week.  We're in the #2 position for virtual clubs, behind the Cambridge Boat club which has posted 7.2 million meters.  CRI's top rower has turned in over 300,000 meters!  The author of this message has managed 13,000 meters - rowed at a stately and dignified pace.  Every meter from every rower is welcome.  It all counts!!

Erg on!
