Saturday, November 1st

Headless Halloween Race
Fall is in the air, and it is time for the 7th Annual CRI Headless Halloween Regatta, a super fun event open to the entire CRI community and their friends. Wear your costume and get ready to race!

The race course start is at the HOCR finish line with the finish at the middle sweep dock right in front of CRI.  Race meeting at 8:30am, first boats launch at 8:35am with the first race set to begin at9am.  Everyone is invited to participate - beginners, advanced, adaptive, veterans, tubbies, b-boats, singles, doubles, quads, even a few 4's or 8's.  To enter you need to be in costume and bring something to eat or drink at the post race brunch and awards ceremony.  There will be several race categories and lots of prizes  including Best Costume, Most Awkward to Row In, and Most Creative as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each race (with medals for all winners!!).

To sign up, email us your name, age and boat choice or a private boat at lyns@mindspring.com or jlangermann@mac.com

We also need volunteers before and after to set up and take down for the brunch, and during the race itself as times, launch drivers, and a few dock hands.  Let us know at either of the emails above.

Thank you, Lynn and John

Row Boston Volunteers Needed
Tutoring/Academic Support

Row Boston is looking for volunteers to help our high school team members with academic work. Time commitment is 1 or 2 hours per week.
Tutors work one-on-one with students during large group study sessions.

Teaching/tutoring experience is helpful but not necessary! Current subjects especially needed are math (precalculus) and science (physics and chemistry), but all help is welcome!

For more info, contact Row Boston Academic Coordinator, Lane Lauriat, at: lane@communityrowing.org

Do you know someone who embodies the "skating rink mentality" and goes the extra mile for Community Rowing?  Nominate them to be one of our two VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR that we will announce at the CRI Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

With the support of the Alyson Magian Scholarship Fund, winners will receive
an entire year of free CRI programming!

Send your nominees' name and a short paragraph about the nominees' activities and contributions to tracy@communityrowing.org by Friday, November 21.

Thank you to everyone who supports and volunteers at CRI - we could not do it without you!
