Top Finishes for Comp Women
A Weekend Double Header

Top Finishes for the Women at Last Weekend's Double Header!

Last Saturday, the women's team took to the Merrimack River in Lowell, MA for the first USRowing Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Masters Regional Regatta.  The top finish for Saturday went to the D4+ (s: Robyn Churchill, Cam Sutter, Gina Sage, b: Cheryl Egan, cox: Aran Hubbell) who won GOLD!  The team also won four silver medals and two bronze medals (full results below).

On Sunday, the women found even more speed and came away with FIVE 1st place finishes during the Festival Regatta!  This was impressive after a hard week of training and racing. The team, coached by Matt Lehrer and Kate Smith, will be heading to Delaware July 28th for the Diamond State Masters Regatta.

CRI Head Gardener
Do You Have a Green Thumb?

CRI is seeking a Volunteer Head Gardener to work closely with staff and the entire CRI community to make the Harry Parker Boathouse grounds as beautiful as they can be.

Specific tasks include rescuing green areas from the ravages of geese, maintaining the river bank by the boathouse, and improving the condition of the bio-swales by adding wildflowers and other plantings as appropriate.

We anticipate that this would be a weekly commitment through the growing season, and would consist primarily of recruiting and coordinating volunteers to perform regular and seasonal tasks, coordinating closely with Dave Snowdon and other CRI staff.  Temporary fencing installation, planting, watering, racking and trimming are the tasks that we hope to accomplish.

CRI and Nordic Skiing
Help Support Nordic Skiing in Boston

The Friends of Leo J Martin Skiing (www.foljms.org) invites members of the rowing community to add their names to the list of supporters working to preserve cross-country skiing at the Weston Ski Track.

Currently the Leo J Martin golf course, which shares land use with the Weston Ski Track, is undergoing extensive renovations by facility owner, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). FOLJMS represents a wide range of winter recreational and cross-country skiing enthusiasts committed to ensuring that the Leo J Martin property also remains a vibrant and successful multi-use, cross-country skiing and winter recreational facility, and that the long-term interests of cross-country skiing in the Greater Boston area are met.

At www.foljms.org, you can learn more about our group, become a Friend yourself, and even join our volunteer list. We'd love to count you among our friends.
