CRI proudly sent 9 crews to the USRowing Youth Nationals at Lake Natoma in California this past week, an event in which only 500 high school age athletes compete nationally. Against intense competition, often against teams who are able to train on the water year-round, the Men's 8+, the Women's Lightweight 8+, and the Women's 2- advanced to the coveted A finals round, finishing in the top 6 for their events nationally.
The Women's 8+, Men's 4+, and Men's 2- (A boat) competed in the B finals, finishing in the top 12 in those events overall, with the Men's 4+ winning third place in their event.
The Women's 4+, whose event had the largest number of entries, was able to knock out 7 of their competitors, but not enough to make the semifinal round in their race, and the Men's 2- (B boat) similarly missed the semifinal round, though was able to eliminate some of their competition.
As their home club, the CRI community is proud of their hard work, their dedicated training to the sport alongside their academic responsibilities, and their rowing accomplishments.
Congratulations to the Men's 4+ for their third place medal finish in their final, to the teams listed below for their achievements at the USRowing Youth Nationals, and to all the CRI athletes with whom they trained.
