Coaching Education Series
Tuesday, April 15, 6:30-8:00pm

ATHLETE PERFORMANCE:
Pelvic Deviations & its Effect on Whole Body Joint Function

Pelvic Deviations: There are many debilitating injuries that cause havoc upon high performance rowers, keeping athletes off the water and isolated from their teams.  Many coaches struggle with injured rowers and lack the expertise to implement best practices in order to avoid injuries and to support injured athletes.

By attending Aaron's presentation you will learn the 5 types of pelvic deviation (e.g. asymmetry), the functions of kinetic chains above and below the pelvis (i.e. spine, shoulder, hip, knee, foot), how an athlete's performance is negatively affected by movement compensation, and more.  This is an interactive presentation with a volunteer acting as a case study to illustrate Aaron's teachings.  JOIN US!

Entrance: $5 entrance fee (CRI Staff are free)
Refreshments: Hot pizza & Cold drink are served!

Crab Alert: Weeks Footbridge
Weeks Footbridge Work to Begin April 3rd

DCR's contractor performing repairs to the Weeks Footbridge will be working in the center span from a barge between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays for the month of April starting Thursday, April 3rd, 2014. The barge will be moved at the end of each the day to the downriver Cambridge-side of the Basin.

·         Rowers are asked to be mindful of the barge as it moves to, from, and beneath the center span.
·         Boaters are asked to avoid the center span during the work hours, however, if it is necessary due to physical constraints for a vessel to pass through the center span the barge will accommodate this.
