January Challenge Time!!
Get Ready ... Sign Up

The start of the January Challenge is almost here.  What's the January Challenge?

Every year during the month of January, ergs at boathouses, homes and gyms throughout the country and the world hum in pursuit of the top spot in the Concept 2 Virtual Team Challenge.

What will it take for CRI to claim the top spot? Meters, and lots of them.  Our goal this year is 40 million meters - once around the world.

Meters can be logged by anyone, on any erg, from anywhere as long as the rower has joined our team, Community Rowing, Inc.

Last year's team rowed 32,977,726 meters and had 377 members; We finished 2nd overall and first among rowing clubs for the second year in a row.

Now is the time to sign up for the challenge.

You can sign up for the 2014 January challenge team now by visiting the Concept 2 web site (www.concept2.com) and logging onto your online logbook, or creating one (to create a log book, check out the link for detailed instructions below.)  Once you log-on, click on the profile tab to make sure that your affiliation is Community Rowing, Inc.  (don't click on the CRI team, left over from years past).  Then click on Teams at the top of the logbook page and in the Team Challenge box, click on the highlighted area to join the challenge.  Then every day, enter the total meters from your workout in your on-line log.  Your meters start accumulating for the challenge on January 1.

If you don't want to be bothered with setting up an online log book and logging your meters online, we'll have clipboards with log sheets available in the Community Room.

Here is the info:

Team Name:

Community Rowing, Inc.

Team Captain: Jane Morse

Questions? Catch Jane at the boathouse (she'll be there erging) or e-mail her at:

With all the erging that goes on at CRI, how can we NOT be #1 in the challenge? You just need to record and log your meters.
