Balliol College, Oxford University
A CRI Connection...
|
Susan Anderson, a CRI rower, recently spent time in the UK. You may have seen a photo of her rowing in last week's E-News. While at Oxford, Susan recalled that Nigel Gallaher (he coaches our CRI Novice Girls, Sculling and gives private lessons) told her that there was a photo of his Dad, Trevor Gallaher, in Balliol College, Oxford University.
As Susan tells the story, "When I arrived in Oxford I looked for the photo in the college but couldn't find it. I emailed Nigel and he said it might be in the boathouse. I went to the Balliol boathouse and asked their boatman about it. He looked dubious that there would be anything in the boathouse to do with an American rower in Balliol. I told him my coach at CRI was Nigel Gallaher. Hearing this, he lit up and showed me the eight with Trevor Gallaher's name on it, and sent me upstairs to see the photo." Nice work Susan!

January Challenge
Join Our Great Team!!
|
We're making plans for the Concept2 January Virtual Team Challenge, which begins January 1, 2014. All CRI ergers can participate and we'll row as a team to log 40 million meters during the month, row around the world, and once again log the most meters of any rowing club. More details will be coming soon including special events and how to sign up for the team. But if you already have an online logbook at the Concept2 web site, you can join now. Just log into your on-line logbook and go to the Team page. On that page you can opt into the January Virtual Challenge. You'll be all set for the January Challenge and any meters you log in December will go for the individual Holiday Challenge.
If you can questions email Jane Morse at jgmorse@morses.net
