Join us for this first annual celebration of women rowers and their amazing accomplishments
both on and off the water.

Don't miss this special evening to reconnect with friends, meet new people and strengthen our powerful athletic network through the shared bond of rowing.  We'll hear from current and former National Team members, G-ROW Boston alumni, and other distinguished members of the
women's rowing community.

Contact [email protected] for more information
or to become a table captain.

Spray & Wipe Ergs
Before AND After Each Use

For your health and that of your fellow rowers, it is especially important to spray and wipe the ergs both before and after each use.

Keep yourself and fellow rowers healthy throughout the winter - spray and wipe down the ergs before and after your workout.

THE JANUARY CHALLENGE HAS BEGUN
Join us and log your meters!!

CRI's competition against the world for which club can log the most meters during the month of January has begun. We won last year, and everyone will be gunning for us. This is the only competition where every CRI program and rower competes as one team, and it's really fun.

As with last year, there will be two ways to log your meters -

For those with electronic logbooks on the Concept 2 web site, all you have to do is to go to your logbook, go to the TEAMS page, and click on the link to join the team challenge. Then enter all your meters (including warmup and cool down) in your logbook. (If you didn't compete with CRI last January, you may need to join the team - go to PROFILE and click on edit profile and at the bottom chose Community Rowing Inc as your affiliation.  Then go to TEAMS and join the challenge.) There will be computers with card readers in the community room so you can enter your meters after your row.

People have been signing up, and we want everyone on the team, so sign up now!!

For those who don't have time for all that, we'll have clipboards available and you can log your name and the meters you rowed that day; we'll enter them for you.

If we are to win again and if we are to meet our goal of rowing around the world, we'll need all the meters that get rowed during the month; don't talk yourself into thinking that your measly little meters don't count - they do - every meter counts.

We're going to organize some fun events to help make the meters go by.  Email Jane Morse [email protected] if you'd like to help organize an event.

A free copy of the first volume of The Annual: Action Research for the Advancement of Rowing is available for all interested CRI members. Please find more information and the link to submit your request for a free copy here.

The Annual is a collection of articles written by members of the Institute for Rowing Leadership's inaugural graduating class of 2012. The hope is that these initial efforts will serve to inspire other coaches and rowing professionals to engage in their daily practice with a similarly reflective methodology and, ultimately, submit their research for a subsequent edition of The Annual so that the outcome may be shared with the rest of the rowing community.
Volunteer for CRASH B Adaptive Events

CRI will be the host this year  for volunteers interested in working with the Adaptive Events at the 2013 CRASH B Sprints. We are looking for people to assist with check in, getting athletes to and from the competition floor, coxing during the race, and various other supportive.

There will be training on February 10, 2013 (the Sunday before CRASH Bs) during our regular Sunday Adaptive Session from 11:30-1:00 pm.

Volunteering for Adaptive Events this year will count toward your annual CRI volunteer hours!  If you are interested, please send an email with your full contact info, including a cell phone number, to Ellen Minzner, Director of Outreach, at:  [email protected].
