A free copy of the first volume of The Annual: Action Research for the Advancement of Rowing is available for all interested CRI members. Please find more information and the link to submit your request for a free copy here.
The Annual is a collection of articles written by members of the Institute for Rowing Leadership's inaugural graduating class of 2012. The hope is that these initial efforts will serve to inspire other coaches and rowing professionals to engage in their daily practice with a similarly reflective methodology and, ultimately, submit their research for a subsequent edition of The Annual so that the outcome may be shared with the rest of the rowing community.

THE JANUARY TEAM CHALLENGE
|
January 1 starts CRI's competition against the world for which club can log the most meters during the month. We won last year, and everyone will be gunning for us. This is the only competition where every CRI program and rower competes as one team, and it's really fun.
As with last year, there will be two ways to log your meters -
For those with electronic logbooks on the Concept 2 web site, all you have to do is to go to your logbook, go to the TEAMS page, and click on the link to join the team challenge. Then enter all your meters (including warmup and cool down) in your logbook. (If you didn't compete with CRI last January, you may need to join the team - go to PROFILE and click on edit profile and at the bottom chose Community Rowing Inc as your affiliation. Then go to TEAMS and join the challenge.) There will be computers with card readers in the community room so you can enter your meters after your row.
So far 5 people have signed up - do it now!!
For those who don't have time for all that, we'll have clipboards available and you can log your name and the meters you rowed that day; we'll enter them for you.
If we are to win again and if we are to meet our goal of rowing around the world, we'll need all the meters that get rowed during the month; don't talk yourself into thinking that your measly little meters don't count - they do - every meter counts.
We're going to organize some fun events to help make the meters go by. Email Jane Morse jgmorse@morses.net if you'd like to help organize an event.
