Row Palooza Power!!
Fun Day for Row Boston and Novice Girls
|
Saturday the girls from Row Boston and CRI's novice team joined forces for our bi-annual Row Palooza (aka "Novice Palooza"). The event was a smashing success, one of the best Paloozas on record! With a generous turnout of 40 participants, coaches fielded several mixed 8s equipped with each team's respective oars in honor of shared sisterhood, and our desire to come together.
Crews started the head race on 5 second centers and finished within 20 seconds from 1st bow ball to 4th stern deck. The racing was close, swift, and flawless! Trophies were awarded for the most spirited crew, the safest/ best race-steering crew, and ribbons given to 1st place.
More noteworthy, however, was the fun and spirited kinship shared by all! New friendships were made, and the girls from Row Boston and CRI genuinely demonstrated the power of Palooza!
A big thanks to the parent coordinators for keeping everyone nourished. Thanks to all coaches and athletes as well, for helping to make this a most successful community-building event!

Call for CRI Board Candidates
Elections for Two New Board Members, Dec 6th
The 2012 CRI Annual Meeting will be on Thursday December 6, 2012 at which time two Board members will be elected by the CRI Membership. The format of the Annual Meeting will be somewhat different this year. Instead of having each candidate for the Board give a presentation at the Annual Meeting, there will be a "Meet the Candidates" event on Wednesday November 14, 2012 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at which time each candidate will be given an opportunity to make a presentation and those in attendance will be able to ask questions and meet each candidate.
The Board is always looking for anyone who is interested in being part of the Board to run for one of the two elected Board positions. While particular expertise or experience is not a requirement, the Board encourages anyone with financial, legal and/or fundraising experience to get involved and run for one of the elected positions.
If you are interested in running for one of the elected positions, the Board asks that you submit a short (300-500 word) statement, together with a head shot photo, explaining why you want to be on the Board and what skills and experience you would bring that would be beneficial to CRI.
Please email the statement by November 8, 2012 to Lila McCain at:
