Letter from the President
Dear Friends, Bob Stimson, President

The Oak Cliff Chamber has moved!  We are officially installed in our new headquarters located at 1001 N. Bishop Avenue, corner of Bishop & 5th Street.  We will be announcing a Grand Opening for our new building in the next few weeks (in other words, when we get all these boxes unpacked), but we welcome our members and neighbors to drop by for a visit!

The New Year is always a time of setting goals and making resolutions for both yourself and your business.  If you are not already a member of the Oak Cliff Chamber, I would encourage you to consider joining and allow us us to help you achieve your business goals.  Here are ten benefits that American Business Magazine lists for being involved in your local Chamber:
  1. Membership brings credibility to your business.  You can increase positive perception among consumers when you're identified as a member of a chamber of commerce.
  2. Membership increases your visibility in the community. New members are listed on the chamber eblasts and website and opportunities to grow your business by advertising with the chamber and sponsoring events are available.
  3. Membership creates networking opportunities.
The Oak Cliff Chamber has numerous networking events as well as committees and serving on one of them provides numerous networking opportunities, in addition to professional leadership development.
  4. Members gain a voice in the government. The Oak Cliff Chamber takes on tough issues and helps protect the principles of free enterprise and aids businesses in being treated fairly.
  5. Members make business contacts. The chamber initiates more business-to-business commerce and more opportunities for networking and connecting local professionals than is available through most other local organizations.
  6. Members receive chamber newsletters.  The chamber newsletters provide new member information, interesting information about operating a local business, articles about the local community, a community calendar and details about up-and-coming chamber events.
  7. Members acquire customer referrals. Every day the Oak Cliff Chamber receives calls from individuals and businesses looking for potential vendors.  We only recommend members!
  8. Members have access to Chamber events and programs. Chamber events and programs provide members with great opportunities to get to know new people and generate new business leads.
  9. Members receive promotion and publicity. With chamber membership, you can reach potential clients through member-exclusive advertising and opportunities for business-to-business advertising and publicity.
  10. Members get access to members-only discounts and services. The Oak Cliff Chamber offers special member-to-member discounts through our Shop the Cliff program.
We look forward to serving you in 2014!

Sincerely,
Bob Stimson
