Letter from the Incoming Chairman
Dear Friends,

Scott Chase, Attorney The Oak Cliff Chamber is planning its legislative agenda for the 2013 Texas Legislature.  The Texas Legislature affects Oak Cliff businesses and residents in many ways and our preliminary plan is to focus on the following issues, all of which affect economic development in our community:
  1. Changes to low income housing laws to enhance sustainable communities
  2. Budget transparency to avoid diversion of dedicated funds
  3. Protection of Medicaid funding
  4. Water resource development
  5. Legislation to authorize Texas to run its own insurance exchange under the Affordable Care Act
I hope you will join in our efforts to educate our state legislators of this agenda, and that you will consider becoming involved in the many different initiatives the Oak Cliff Chamber is involved in.  This month we invite you to attend the following special events on our October calendar:

Public Safety & Recycling Fair, Saturday, October 13, 9-12am
This FREE, family-friendly event will be held at Mountain View College, located at 4849 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas, TX 75211 in the Mountain View College Athletic Complex.
