Fresh Year, Fresh Face!
Welcome to 2016! We hope everyone had a very happy holiday season and great New Year's celebration. Is there anything better than a clean slate? No matter where you look -- the internet, your television, magazines, etc -- January is all about starting anew. Perhaps you are one of those "January joiners," or perhaps you try and stay fit all year round and are just carrying forward healthy habits, but both types of individuals deserve a fresh face, too!
To compound what is sure to be a year of great health and an improving (or maintaining!) fabulous physique, why not freshen up your face? Dr. Michelle Yagoda, New York City's premier facial plastic surgeon, has developed a minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure that is, as the quite literal name suggests, a non-surgical facelift! If you have been thinking about a facelift but are not ready to take the plunge and book a surgery, read on below to find out your options.
Dr. Yagoda's non-surgical facelift is a combination of neurotoxins (Botox and Dysport) and injectable fillers that provide beautiful, rejuvenating results in under an hour. The results are immediate, last from 3-10 months, and have minimal downtime (although you shouldn’t exercise vigorously for 24 hours).
The first part of the procedure, Botox or Dysport, is excellent for crow's feet wrinkles, forehead furrows, and neck lines. The injectables offer quick and completely natural-looking results. Although the three are similar, they all have different qualities, and Dr. Yagoda will be sure to help you select the one that’s best for you! There is a reason injectables are THE most often performed cosmetic procedure: As long as your surgeon has a skilled hand, you will leave the office looking years younger than when you walked in!
After using the injectables, Dr. Yagoda will begin the second phase with fillers. Fillers, such as Perlane or Restylane, not only “fill” out wrinkles, but they also do more! With a non-surgical facelift, Dr. Yagoda will use fillers to augment your cheekbones, restore lost volume, and subtly lift the skin from underneath to give a smoother, more contoured look. As a bonus, this extra volume in the upper cheek area helps fill out the lower eyelids, eliminating that hollow, tired look. Dr. Yagoda also uses fillers to smooth the “marionette” lines and nasolabial folds (the “parentheses” of the face that run from the corner of your nose to the sides of your mouth). She can even restore the crisp edge of the jaw and disguise modest jowls by adding filler to the jawline.
A non-surgical facelift is performed with either just topical anesthetic (numbing cream) or with the addition of local anesthetic. In either case, you can walk out of the office and go back to your normal routine immediately. You’ll already be able to see improvement and, in a few days, you’ll be able to enjoy the full result of your non-surgical transformation! This is the perfect solution for those wanting to look fresh in the new year but are working a packed schedule. Every non-surgical facelift is tailored to each individual's needs and desires, but the results are always SO worth it! If you have been thinking about coming into the office for a consultation but have held out for fear that surgery is the only option, now is the time to come on. It is a new year -- seize the day!
