BeautyScoop Old-Fashioned

BeautyScoop's Take on the 'Mad Men' Old-Fashioned

 Ingredients:   

  • 1 packet or 1 scoop of BeautyScoop
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 3 ounces club soda
  • 2 ounces rye whisky
Preparation:
  1. Place the sugar cube in an old-fashioned glass.  
  2. Wet it down with 2 or 3 dashes of Angostura bitter and a short splash of water or club soda.  
  3. Crush the sugar with a wooden muddler, chopstick or strong spoon.
  4. Rotate the glass so that the sugar grains and bitters give it a lining. 
  5. Add a large ice cube.
  6. Place two ounces of rye in a small glass.
  7. Add BeautyScoop and remaining club soda to the rye and mix until well blended. 
  8. Pour combination into the old-fashioned glass.
  9. Garnish with a wedge or orange and a cherry.
  10. Serve with a stirring rod.  

Serves 1.
