Trinity Church Baton Rouge to Host Breast Cancer Presentation - Nov 13
 Join us at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge on Wednesday evening, November 13, for a presentation by Dr. Robert Elliott of the Elliott-Elliott-Head Breast Cancer Research & Treatment Center, established by Dr. Robert Elliott in 1973 as the Elliott Mastology Center. It is the first, and one of the only facilities in the United States providing comprehensive breast care and treatment as well as breast cancer research. The EEH Center has received worldwide acclaim, from both patients and the medical community, for its outstanding success in treating Breast Cancer using many progressive technologies developed by the Center's research team. The event will take place in the Day School's Activities Building:

ART EXHIBIT COMES TO ST. PHILIP'S!
New Orleans ~~ November 9th - 17th
St. Philip's and the West Bank Art Guild have joined forces to present and exhibit for sale original works by local artists. The show will open on Saturday, November 9th with a reception from 1-4pm in St. Philip's Parish Hall where you can sip wine and partake of some cheese as well as talk to the artists about their work. The Parish Hall will be open 9:00am-noon and 1:00pm-6:00pm daily until November 17th as well as "by appointment".

The Interfaith Dialogue Group is sponsoring a screening and discussion of FRANCIS and the SULTAN: A Model for Peacemaking at the St. Clare Monastery, 740 Henry Clay (at Magazine) on Thursday November 14, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Trinity Church has been part of the Interfaith Dialogue group for over 5 years with the Atlas Foundation. St. Francis refused to fight in the Fifth Crusade, but went instead to embrace the Muslims.

An introduction to the pipe organ for young keyboard players on Saturday, November 9 at 10am, keyboard players aged 11-18 are invited to attend a free program at Christ Church Cathedral (2919 Saint Charles Ave.) where participants are invited to meet the pipe organ.

St. Andrew's Episcopal School Open House Tour Scheduled - Nov 14 & Dec 12
St. Andrew's Episcopal School, the oldest Episcopal school in Orleans Parish and a member of the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, will hold an open house for prospective parents interested in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, or Grades 1-8. The remaining fall open houses for this admission season are scheduled for Thursday, November 14, and Thursday, December 12. Each open house will begin at 9:00 am at 1031 South Carrollton Avenue.

"The Prophet's Message for Advent"
Advent Quiet Morning, All Saints, River Ridge
Saturday, Dec. 7, 8:45 am - 11:45 am
The Rev. Bridget Tierney will lead an Advent Quiet Morning on Saturday, Dec. 7, at All Saints Church, 100 Rex Dr., River Ridge. Everyone is invited to attend this time of Advent spiritual reflection. Mother Tierney will focus on the prophet Isaiah and how the prophetic message speaks to us.
The morning starts at 8:45am with continental breakfast in Morris Hall. Mother Tierney's program begins in the church at 9:15 followed by her first meditation at 9:30. Meditations are scheduled at 10:30 and 11:30 with dismissal at 11:45. During the silent periods, participants may meditate in the church or parish hall, read, stroll the grounds, or get coffee. Participants regroup in church for each meditation.
Mother Tierney is a Seabury-Western Seminary graduate and has served as a parish priest and chaplain. She has returned to her Louisiana roots to be closer to family members.
Join us for this Quiet Morning to be refreshed and nourished for Advent.

2014 Holy Land Pilgrimage Information June 2-15, 2014. The tour will follow the same itinerary and use the same guide as the 2012 trip.
There is a limit of 37 pilgrims. As of now the trip is open to Episcopalians from the Diocese of Louisiana (and their immediate families). If there are still spaces available in early November, we will consider opening it up to other interested persons who are willing to participate in the pre-trip meetings. Those interested in participating who were not able to attend a meeting, are asked to contact Carol Butcher to schedule a time to meet with the Dean and go over the trip requirements and details.
