November 2nd Reconciliation Event in Our Diocese

2013 is the Year of Reconciliation in the Diocese of Louisiana, a year in which we have undertaken a great deal of planning in response to Resolution 17 of the 168th Convention of the Diocese in which we pledged ourselves to work to become a Diocese committed to ending institutional and other forms of racism through dialogue and training.

In preparation for the main event in 2014, and for our efforts in years to come, we will have a meeting of all the clergy, of Senior and Junior Wardens, and of other dedicated laypersons from each congregation on November 2, 2013 at St. James Church in Baton Rouge.

The main event will be at Christ Church Cathedral on January 18, 2014, at which time we will participate in a service that we are calling "Seeking Christ in all People: a Service of Commitment to Racial Healing, Justice and Reconciliation."

2014 Holy Land Pilgrimage Information

June 2-15, 2014. The tour will follow the same itinerary and use the same guide as the 2012 trip.

There is a limit of 37 pilgrims. As of now the trip is open to Episcopalians from the Diocese of Louisiana (and their immediate families). If there are still spaces available in early November, we will consider opening it up to other interested persons who are willing to participate in the pre-trip meetings.

Those interested in participating who were not able to attend a meeting, are asked to contact Carol Butcher to schedule a time to meet with the Dean and go over the trip requirements and details.
