Sunday, June 23 @ 5 pm: Symphony Chorus and OperaCreole Celebrate The Music of Moses Hogan
Directed by Steven Edwards
St. Alban's Chapel, on the campus of Louisiana State University, will celebrate St. Alban's Day on Sunday, June 23.

Anyone throughout the diocese and beyond whose life has been touched by this ministry over the years is invited to join the current congregation of St. Alban's Chapel in this morning of celebration. The Rev. and Mrs. Charles Wood will be our special guests at the 10:30 service. "Chuck" was the chaplain here from 1970 - 1997, and will be our guest preacher at the 10:30 service.

A brunch will be held in the common hall immediately after the service. At the end of the brunch, over dessert and coffee, Chuck, and several other veteran members of St. Alban's, will share some remembrances of their early years here (and sign autographs). A "History of St. Alban's Chapel" timeline is now on display in the Foyer. All guests are encouraged to add significant dates, events, and any photos you can contribute to this group art project. Please join us!
America's Fastest-Growing Cities Since The Recession ~ Joel Kotkin, Forbes June 18, '13

The No. 1 city on our list, New Orleans, fits this picture to a degree as a quintessentially Southern city, but it's a bit of an anomaly. Its fast growth is partially a rebound effect from its massive population loss after Katrina, but is also a function of a striking economic revival that I have seen firsthand as a consultant in the area.

It was widely reported that the Great Recession and subsequent economic malaise changed the geography of America. Suburbs, particularly in the Sun Belt, were becoming the "new slums" as people flocked back to dense core cities. Full List & Full Story - Click Here
