Dear Sisters and Brothers,
There are so many fine works of generosity around the diocese. One that captured my attention the moment I set foot on their premise is the Angola Correctional Facility. Angola is the largest prison in Louisiana and houses some of the most violent criminals, and the ministry that takes place there is beyond anything I've seen. The work at Angola is strong but in need of direct supervision. The BAMA monies will provide us with a part time priest that will coordinate this important ministry. I ask that you be prayerful with your giving to the BAMA fund. With your help we can grow this ministry and assist those who find themselves behind bars. Simply because these men have broken the law does not mean we need to ignore their spiritual needs. We are called to bring good news to the captives. Blessings.

The Feast of Corpus Christi and the Downtown Deanery
The Downtown Deanery extends its heartfelt invitation to all clergy and laity to join us for a special Solemn High Mass and Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi. The Mass will start at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday May 30th at St. Anna's Episcopal Church, 1313 Esplanade Ave. The procession which follows will traverse through the Treme, French Quarter, and Marigny neighborhoods on a ten block jaunt with four prayer stations along the way. The con-celebrants: The Very Rev. Jean Mead, The Rev. Edward Thompson, and the The Rev. Bill Terry will lead worship. A combined Deanery Choir is being put together and any church is invited to participate in rehearsals (Please contact Darryl Durham 504-947-2121 or darryl@stannanola.org). Children will lead the procession in veil with rose petals. This ancient solemnity finds its roots in the 13th Century and is recognized on the Calendars of The Church of England, several Orthodox Churches, The Roman Catholic Church, and some Lutheran Churches. A pot luck lunch will follow. Please, clergy RSVP by email to fr.bill@stannanola.org. Join us for "Church in the streets."
