Blessing of the Throats at St. John's
Rev. Travers Koerner blessed the throats of the congregation at St. John's Episcopal/Anglican Church in Kenner, LA. Two candles were placed by each person's throat and Fr. Koerner annointed them with healing oil. Now everyone is prepared for the cold winter season.
New Asset Based Community Development Dates (ABCD)

Due to a large request for weekend trainings to accommodate work schedules, we have rescheduled the ABCD Trainings and Tronn Moller, who conducted training in the Fall of 2011, will lead the workshops.

ECW Spring Meeting, Feb 23rd
Baton Rouge

ECW Baton Rouge Deanery will be holding their Spring Meeting on Saturday, February 23 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Denham Springs. Registration will begin at 9:00a.m.

The guest speaker for this meeting will be JoAnn Ziller, Altar Guild Diocesan Director. Holy Eucharist will be celebrated with Father Kirkland W. "Skully" Knight, Episcopal Middle School Chaplain. Lunch will be served for only $8.00 to help defray the cost.

St. Mark's Harvey Lenten Program

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3245 Manhattan Blvd, Harvey, LA will hold a free Lenten program on Wednesday evenings, ending with a Seder Meal on March 20.  Soup and Salad will be served at 6:30 pm with the program "The Cristeros of Mexico" starting at 7 pm.  For additional information and to make reservations, please call 366-0123.
 
St. Mark's will also be holding Morning Prayer Monday through Saturday at 9 am during Lent and Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings at 7 pm.

Parish-Based Case Management Training will provide laity and church leaders with the skills and tools needed to assess, plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor services and resources necessary to respond to complex needs following disaster-related losses.

"From EDoLA, With Love" Young Adult Mission to the Northeast -- March 21-25, 2013

We will be traveling March 21-25, 2013 to New York to work with the Diocese of Long Island doing disaster relief and rebuilding. We will leave on Thursday evening, March 21, and return early evening on Monday, March 25. We will work in New York on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The trip is open to anyone over the age of 21 as of March 21, 2013. The cost of the trip is $500 per person and includes airfare, lodging, transportation, and most meals. Fundraising will take place during February and March to offset the cost of the trip. It is our goal to keep the trip affordable for participants as well as to fundraise to be able to bring a monetary donation with us to the Diocese of Long Island. View Flyer Here
