Lunch with C. S. Lewis resumes at St. Alban's Chapel on the campus of LSU
The lunches begin next Wednesday, February 6 (11:30 - 12:15). St. Alban's Chapel hosts this weekly lunch for grad and undergrad students at LSU. Each week, lunch is followed by a short presentation on the subject of prayer by the chaplain, Fr. Drew Rollins or Dr. Ed Song, a member of the LSU faculty in the department of Religion and Philosophy. The background reading for this semesters sessions is Lewis' Letters to Malcolm Chiefly on Prayer. Each student who attends is offered a free copy of the book along with their free lunch. The meals are served by a dedicated team from St. Alban's, and these lunches are paid for by generous contributions of churches and some individuals from across the diocese. Please keep these gatherings in your prayers and encourage any LSU students you know to attend. Geaux Tigers!

a new format for 2013
|
ChurchWork, the diocesan news magazine, has seen many changes over the years - - including editors, publication frequency, and (just a few short years ago) a shift from newspaper to magazine format. Now, in what the Bishop and Executive Board hope will be a step forward into a bright future,
ChurchWork is evolving yet again!
Beginning in February ChurchWork will be published as an electronic magazine. Publication frequency will increase from four issues to six per year, and will feature active media content in addition to standard articles and event announcements. The new ChurchWork will easily interface with most portable electronic readers, as well as with your home or office computer. Of course, the magazine can still be printed out on a standard computer printer if you want a hard copy to carry around with you.
Going fully electronic is kinder to the environment, and allows us to be more efficient stewards of our financial resources.
