"You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."
|
I hope you all had a blessed holiday season and are settling into the New Year. As the new Executive Director of Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana (ECSLA), I would like to take the opportunity to share the amazing progress we have made. In the last two years, ECSLA has supported the Diocese of LA ministries by serving over 7,000 individuals with emergency direct assistance, educating children, housing and food.
In order to continue to better serve Diocesan ministries, we are consolidating services. ECSLA will begin offering capacity building opportunities for our parishes seeking to create sustainable ministries. We will continue Parish-Based Case Management, Living With Purpose Fellows and the Gaudet Fund.
In addition, ECSLA has had administrative changes that I would like to share. First, Amelia Arthur will be co-leading with ECSLA the Living With Purpose Fellows in 2013. Many of you already know her as Coordinator for Youth & Young Adult Ministries for The Episcopal Diocese of LA. We are excited and looking forward to her leadership.
Secondly, ECSLA will consolidate the Volunteers Program under the direction of Connie Uddo, Executive Director of St. Paul's Homecoming Center. We are looking forward to continuing to support St. Paul's Homecoming Center with volunteers that help rebuild our beautiful city.
Lastly, don't forget to visit our website at www.ecsla.org for the new capacity building opportunities beginning at the end of January and continuing throughout the year. I look forward to a successful 2013.
Karla Sikaffy duPlantier, M.E.
