NEW DATE!
Trinity Institute's 42nd National Theological Conference, Radical Christian Life: Equipping Ourselves for Social Change, will be held December 7-9, 2012. The St. James Center for Spiritual Formation plans to host the conference on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8. Other events on the St. James campus that weekend necessitate that we host the webcast and breakout sessions in the CSF Atrium and spaces on the third floor of the Ministries Center at 205 N. Fourth Street, Baton Rouge, and will need to limit registration to that which can be accommodated in that space. If you can attend on Friday evening December 7 and Saturday, December 8, your registration remains in effect and your spot is reserved. If you will not be able to attend, contact us so that a refund of your registration fee may be made. If you know of others who were planning to attend the conference, please share this information with them, and if they can join us on the rescheduled date, encourage them to register as soon as possible, as our space is limited. Online registration is available, or phone the church office at 225-387-5141 to reserve a spot and Saturday lunch selection. Trinity Conference Information and Registration Available Now!

Church of the Transfiguration Training Inmate Chaplains
Seeking donations for RSV Lectionaries
To assist with an increase of nearly 1,000 new inmates at Angola (from the closed facility in DeRidder) and a hiring freeze which has reduced the chaplain's department to two full-time employees for the 6,000 inmates, Fr. Roldan is holding classes for inmate chaplains who will be trained to conduct weekly ecumenical liturgical services beginning with the new inmates at one of the out-camps, Camp C.
The class group will use the RSV Lectionary. Each student needs his own copy of the new Lectionary book to take to the dorm to study and prepare his lessons.
We are asking each church in the diocese to donate the $25, the cost of one book so that we can buy the books, in bulk, at cost. If your church is able to assist in this endeavor, please make your check to the Church of the Transfiguration and mail c/o Carolyn Douglas, P.O. Box 991, St. Francisville, La. 70775.
