Mr. Edward B. Benjamin, former chancellor of the diocese, dies
"Wise counsel"
[Excerpt from Bp. Charles Jenkins' 2003 Convention Address, upon the retirement of Mr. Benjamin]
The work of Christ's church in Louisiana goes forth on the loving, sacrificial efforts of men and women who most often quietly, steadily and faithfully give of their time, talent and treasure to advance God's mission in this land. And so it is that we have been blessed with the presence of Edward B. Benjamin as chancellor of the Diocese of Louisiana for the past 20 years. The wise counsel and steady guidance of Mr. Benjamin throughout the episcopate of Bishop James B. Brown and through the first five years of my episcopate has been an assurance and strong rock for your bishops during some very frightening times.
The Rt. Rev'd Charles E. Jenkins, 10th Bishop of the Diocese of Louisiana

An Evening with the St. Louis Jesuits
This November, during Loyola Week 2012, the Jesuit Center will be hosting the St. Louis Jesuits, one of the most popular liturgical music groups for decades. Known for writing popular hymns such as "Be Not Afraid", "City of God",and "Here I Am, Lord", the St. Louis Jesuits popularized contemporary liturgical music in the 1970s and 1980s, and their songs are still sung around the world today. This event is a rare occasion where these 5-time Grammy nominees come together to sing the hymns they made popular in churches throughout the country.
The performance will take place on Monday, November 5th, 2012 at 7:30 PM in Roussel Hall. VIP tickets include reserved seating, a 6:00 PM pre-event reception, and a signed copy of The St. Louis Jesuits, Thirty Years.
