New violence in Ferguson, Mo., spotlights the urgency for serious conversations about race, religion, culture and class. Join those conversations at Space for Grace Nov. 4-7 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel.

Mission center group prays for peace
American Baptists gathered Aug. 6 at the Peace Pole at American Baptist Churches USA's Mission Center, Valley Forge, Pa., to pray and remember the 1945 bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

Youth from First Baptist Church, Olathe, Kan., helped to set up and tear down Judson Press' Mission Summit bookstore, putting their earnings toward a mission trip to Los Angeles.

'Passionaries in New Orleans' construct labyrinth
as 10th-anniversary project
For the 10th anniversary year of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, volunteers constructed a 17-foot-diameter labyrinth in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward during "Home Mission: 'Til the Work is Done."
