Greetings in the name of
our Lord and Savior!
With global upheaval at every turn, now is the time to equip emerging leaders to bring Christ's perspective to a humankind in desperate need of peace, justice and love. As part of our commitment to developing young disciples, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) invited nine young adults to participate in educational workshops and to interact with our staff during the Young Adult Leadership Experience that took place recently at and around the Mission Center in Valley Forge, Pa. Among the highlights was serving meals to the homeless at Chosen 300 Ministries' center city Philadelphia site.
It's more crucial than ever to not only nurture our young adults but also to help guide the steps in their journey to becoming the caring heart, serving hands and prophetic voice of Jesus in a world rife with obstacles. While the goal may, at times, seem beyond reach, we've made a great start, finding our nine young adult participants hungry for God's movement in their lives, eager to learn, and excited to remain in touch with us and each other.
