Things to Do

Greetings!

February already!  The Florida weather has been PERFECT.  This month we feature a wonderful photo and information about the Snowy Egret.  You can often see them around BallenIsles and they are magnificent.

We also include interesting information about Real Estate swaps and trades.  Based on the premise that every Seller is also a Buyer, learn more about this inovative and timely technique.

Please let us know how best we can serve you.  Why not suggest a topic you would like to see in a future Newletter.

Happy Valentine's Day!

REAL ESTATE TRENDS

Swaps and Trades

Since almost every seller is really a buyer in disguise who is prevented from buying because they can't sell, it makes sense to try to match up sellers who want to buy with other sellers who are also would-be buyers.  Besides, membership issues are complicated and a swap makes it a breeze.

A trade is an exchange of properties where the owner of the lesser priced property trades his home for the more expensive one plus the cash differential.  So here's a way to facillitate a swap.  Let us know what you are looking for in a new home and we will try to match you up with a resident whose property may be the perfect trade.  The benefits are obvious, no market time for your own property, no intrusive showings or Open Houses, take your membership level with you and potentially reduced costs.

We believe many residents wish to remain in BallenIsles but find themselves living in homes that no longer meet their current needs.  Some want to downsize and others need more space but home sales have been sluggish and mobility is restricted.  It would be extremely risky to buy another more suitable home before your current property has sold.  We can help.  We already have a Swap List of interested residents who wish larger or smaller properties, but have not found the right fit.  We would be happy to include your requirements and work on finding a trade.

FEATHERED FRIENDS
Snowy Egret

Hunted almost to extinction for its elegant and delicate feathers, the snowy egret has snow white feathers, wispy body plumes, black legs and bill and bright yellow feet.  Some people think snowy egret got it's name because it's feet look like they are wearing bright yellow galoshes.  When feeding at the shoreline, it shuffles its feet along the sandy bottom to stir up fish and crabs to stab with its sharp beak.  The snowy egret nests in shrubs and low trees in colonies that can sometime contain a thousand birds.  It's mating plumage, shown above, is paticularly magnificent with elegant, delicate feathers.

The beautiful bird above was photographed at BallenIsles by my husband, Rodney Cole.
