2013 was a busy year with lots of fantastic projects working with outstanding artists:

 

No Ordinary Hero: The SuperDeafy Movie - With Marlee Matlin, starring John Maucere, executive produced by Liz Tannebaum and Paul Maucere, directed by Troy Kotsur, produced by Hilari Scarl and Doug Matejka, written by Taly Ravid. We finished production and had our world premiere at Heartland Film Festival. Currently in negotiations for distribution, with plans for release in 2014. More news coming soon!

 

Chill - documentary about Jennifer Frappier cheating the biological clock. Directed by Hilari Scarl, edited by A.C.E. editor Pam Wise; currently in post production. Captions coming soon.

CJ JONES continues to perform his one-man show, including performances in Reims, France and Copenhagen, Denmark. He is co-writing, directing and acting in the sign language videos for children "Once Upon a Sign" with his company SWTV and Dawn Sign Press. CJ traveled to Ecuador with SEE WHAT I'M SAYING and has plans to return in 2014.

 

TL FORSBERG returned to Israel in 2013 as a performer/speaker of diversity after performing in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem with SEE WHAT I'M SAYING in 2011. She starred in the short film DEAFENING and completed her album LOVE ADDICT which is scheduled to be released in 2014.

 

BOB HILTERMANN continues to teach sign language using humor and fun, and has been performing with his band Beethoven's Nightmare. He is also featured in the sign language series SHUT UP AND SIGN.

 

ROBERT DeMAYO worked on the feature NO ORDINARY HERO: THE SUPERDEAFY MOVIE in Los Angeles with the art department/production team and he has a cameo in the film. Robert was hired by the New Mexico School for the Deaf for 2014 as an artist in residence to direct the spring play and teach acting workshops with students.

The news of the fake interpreter at Nelson Mandela's memorial was reported around the world. The positive to come out of this travesty is that people are discussing sign language, applauding the many talented interpreters who are out there and building awareness that sign language changes country to country just like spoken language. CELEBRATION OF KODA'S - we were thrilled to see the video of Claire Koch, this charming KODA (Kid of Deaf Adult) at her holiday concert go viral. Can you spot her in this video?
