Hey friend!
Happy Older Americans Month! This year's Older Americans Month theme-"Unleash the Power of Age!"-emphasizes the important role of seniors in our community and across the nation.
At AGE of Central Texas, it's our job to face the challenges of aging head on, so that we can find solutions to meet the needs of older adults in our community. We envision a world where everyone sees aging as a powerful and positive thing, no matter what month it is!
In honor of Older Americans Month, I'd love to invite you to join us for an Open House at our Round Rock Adult Day Health Center. On Tuesday, May 28th from 5:30 to 7PM, come see how adult day care brings older adults together to stay strong, healthy, and connected! Open House Reception
Tuesday, May 28th from 5:30 - 7PM
Sincerely, Joyce Lauck

2013 AGE Awards Dinner a Great Success!
|
| Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the annual AGE Awards Dinner, held on April 25, 2013. It was a pleasure to eat, drink, and be merry with so many people who care about aging issues in our community. And this year we raised more funds than ever before towards AGE's mission of supporting older adults and those who care for them. We are so grateful!

Meet Edna, A Client on the Move
|
| Edna had trouble leaving her house, getting out of a chair, and even walking herself to the bathroom. At 77, she's just not as strong as she used to be, and her weakening body already suffered a few falls.
Edna heard about AGE through a friend, and came by to get a free walker so she could be more steady on her feet. She also took AGE's Fall Prevention classes, and learned how to physically and mentally boost herself up to reduce the threat of falls in her life.
Now, Edna is able to move around better, running errands and even getting out to see her grandchildren. With a little help, she no longer lets her fear of falls cast a shadow on her life.
