Bright Prospect students announce their plans for higher education

On April 24th, Bright Prospect held one of several local College Decision Days, this time with 56 Montclair High School seniors expressing what it meant to them to be able to attend college. Bright Prospect is one of United Way's Community Impact Partners, receiving funding to help inspire, inform and guide students from low-income communities toward higher education - many ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty. "Little things can mean a lot to a student," said one of our teachers who receives free school supplies for her students. Do you remember when you were younger and had the opportunity to go shopping for school supplies with your parents? Unfortunately, many kids in our community go without ever getting to experience the joy of shopping for their own new folders, backpacks, and crayons.
