50th Annual Georgia Author of the Year Awards

Each year, the Georgia Writers Association hosts the Georgia Author of the Year Awards (GAYA) to recognize authors who've published in the previous year. If you or someone you know published a book in 2013, we encourage you to submit a nomination for the 50th GAYA. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2014. Click here to review the guidelines.

Saturday, November 16

Joe Samuel Starnes, author of novels Fall Line and Calling, will discuss how fiction can come alive with details acquired from research, giving your short stories and novels a sense of verisimilitude. Starnes will also offer tips on avoiding the pitfalls and delays that researching can bring to fiction writing.

Holiday Party to Benefit Calvary Children's Home
Saturday, December 7 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Please join us for our annual Holiday Party at the KSU Center in Kennesaw for refreshments and a reading! There is no admission fee for this event, but we encourage our guests to bring donations for the children and young adults at the local Calvary Children's Home
. Possible donations include: books (children to young adult), gift cards to restaurants and clothing stores, or a monetary gift. 

Registration for this event will open on November 7.
