Teaching for Change is celebrating 25 years of providing teachers and parents with tools to create schools where students learn to read, write, and change the world. This year also marks our tenth anniversary of operating the Teaching for Change Bookstore at Busboys and Poets, a destination progressive bookstore in D.C. That chapter of our history will come to a close on April 26 as we transition to an online only bookstore. We invite you to read and share memories of the bookstore and shop our in-store sale.

Earth Day: April 22, 2015

New Teaching Activities on Climate Change

On this 45th anniversary of Earth Day, the stakes are higher than ever for the future of our planet. Our collective house is burning down, and the least we can do is help our students understand why and consider ways to respond. The Zinn Education Project, a project of Teaching for Change and Rethinking Schools, released four new lessons on environmental justice available for free download.
