eHomily  by Pastor Ron...

Did you know that you are never too young or too old to make a difference in life?  It's true!

For example:

  •  Mozart published his first composition when he was 7 years old.
  • George Burns won his first Oscar when he was 80 years old.
  • Benjamin Franklin published his first newspaper column when he was 16 and was a framer of the United States Constitution at the age of 81.
  • William Pitt was only 24 when he became the Prime Minister of Great Britain.
  • Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel at 71.

Norman Vincent Peale became Pastor of the renowned Marble Collegiate Church in New York City at the young age of 33 and pastored for 52 years.  He retired as Pastor at the age of 85, but kept busy for years speaking around the world.

A reporter asked Rev. Peale one day after he addressed an audience of 3000: "How can you at age 92, talk for 45 minutes with all that energy, enthusiasm and gestures?"  His answer was direct and simple: "That is the way I have always spoken.  And I'm still the same person I have always been.  I am still interested, enthusiastic and concerned..."  Dr. Peale gave the reporter one piece of advice he had lived with for many years and it is a bit of wisdom for us all:  "Live your life and forget your age!"

It's true.  Forget your age and live your life because whether you are young or old, you can make a difference!  As the Apostle Paul said, "Make the most of every opportunity" (Ephesians 5:16).
