Welcome Church Family to eHomily!

eHomily  by Pastor Ron...

  Pastor Ron Harvey

In the Old Testament, David, the greatest King Israel has ever known said in the most familiar words he ever wrote, "The Lord is my shepherd..." (Psalm 23:1).  In the New Testament, Jesus, the only Lord and Savior you will ever need said in the most reassuring words you could ever hear, "I am the good shepherd..." (John 10:11).

We are His sheep; He is our shepherd.  Let's not be confused as to our roles.  Our job is to follow our Shepherd faithfully.  His role is to guide, provide and protect.   Though we may be concerned about our tendency to wander away from our Shepherd mindlessly, carelessly and dangerously-we should never worry about whether our Shepherd will provide for us personally, lovingly and sufficiently.  He is the Good Shepherd!  That is why we are drawn to Him like sheep to a shepherd.

We can trust our Shepherd not only because He loves us but because He is greater than us and more powerful than us.  That is why we can look to Him in life's storms and still relax.

Max Lucado once wrote: "Does the child of Arnold Schwarzenegger worry about tight pickle-jar lids?  Does the son of Nike founder Phil Knight sweat a broken string?  If the daughter of Bill Gates can't turn on her computer does she panic?  No.  Nor should you."

Max is right!  Our job is to relax and follow Him and see how He provides!

Blessings,

Pastor Ron
