eHomily  by Pastor Ron...

Someone sent me a story about the dedication and opening of a new library in Australia in which the Anglican Bishop was asked to preside and offer a blessing.  It seems that about thirty minutes before the ceremony, the Bishop, dressed in full regalia, walked out on the mezzanine to survey the scene and the crowd of more than a thousand which had gathered for the much-publicized event.  While standing there he spotted an old friend he had not seen in decades.  Evidently, he felt if he didn't get his attention immediately, he may never see him again.  So the Bishop yelled out the name of his friend, "Neal!"  Suddenly, one thousand people hit the floor!

Okay, I groaned too when I read it!  But I smiled as well-and that's not a bad thing to do at least once a day.  So, see, you've got it out of the way!

This past Sunday we talked about the Name of Jesus.  Here is a Name deserving of highest honor.  Now I admit I'm not too keen on kneeling before any man who happens to be an authority, celebrity, or dignitary.  But I'm all about showing reverence before my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  This is the one to whom I bow everyday and you should too.  In fact, the Bible says one day, "Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord..." (Philippians 2:10-11 Paraphrase).  So you might as well get started today and practice what will be the way and what we will say one day.  There is something about that Name...
