There is a story from the early days of Billy Graham's evangelistic ministry which occurred in a city where he had come to conduct a crusade. He had written a letter and was looking for a place to mail it. While walking around the block he passed a young boy and asked him how to get to the post office. The boy gave Billy Graham directions and, before leaving, the evangelist said to the kid, "Come over to the arena tonight and I'll tell you how to get to heaven." The kid looked at him and replied, "How can you know how to get to heaven? You don't even know how to get to the post office!"
Fortunately, Billy Graham has a lifetime of ministry in which he has effectively pointed millions to heaven. In fact, in the fall of this year there will be another opportunity to hear Billy Graham present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a telecast seen around the world. We will promote it through our church and encourage friends to hear the proclamation of the Gospel.
But, we don't have to wait till the fall to tell our friends about Jesus. We can do that now. As I challenged you this past Sunday, begin now to pray devotedly for those around you who are unchurched and unsaved. Build relationships with others in our community and live wisely among them so that you might speak clearly and share lovingly the Good News of Jesus Christ. There is no greater joy and higher honor than to have a role in leading someone you love to a life-saving relationship with Jesus Christ!
This week invite a friend to church and begin a conversation about Jesus. Let's do it!
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Ron
