This coming Sunday, November 11, is our church's Mission's Fair in which we will celebrate our involvement in missions. There are no better days in the life of a church than when it fully understands and wholly undertakes its mission to the world. God calls some to give their lives to vocational missionary service; God calls all to give their support to missionary service. How so? You can-
- Pray (Spiritual support)
- Give (Financial support)
- Go (Mission trip)
This past year we were partners in mission endeavors by our prayers, mission trips, and giving through the church budget and mission offerings (Such as Maguire State Missions and Lottie Moon). What were the results?
Through our Florida State missions: We supported church missions in the state of Florida and 23 compassionate ministries which provide an opportunity to share the love of Christ (Such as Orphan's heart, mobile medical and dental clinics, prisons, migration farm workers, children's camps for hearing impaired and inner city youth, disaster relief work with 5,915 volunteers. Our State does work in Haiti which started 15 years ago with 88 churches and now it is 1,554 churches. Since the earthquake we have built 1,025 permanent homes, and seen 165,213 persons profess faith in Christ.
Through our International Missions (IMB): This past year our IMB missionaries and volunteer groups shared the gospel 2,270,000 times. We engaged 200 new people groups (who had never heard the gospel). It resulted in 334,000 new believers baptized, and 28,800 new churches. That was just last year! If you prayed and gave financial support and even took a mission trip this year, then you were a part of it. So celebrate!
When we go and share or when we give so that others may share, it touches lives because they know we care. And because it's the Gospel! That's why we must go, give, and pray! That's why we do missions!
Devotedly your Pastor,
Ron
