Volume 4, Issue 2

     FROM OUR PTSA PRESIDENT

Dear Steinbrenner Students, Families, and Teachers,

On behalf of the PTSA Board, I am excited to inform you that Steinbrenner High has been recognized by the National PTA as a School of Excellence.
This is a 2-year designation (2016-2018) and is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. Thanks to all of you that supported us last year by participating in the surveys and programs that led us to receive this designation.  I'd especially like to thank board members Janet Stahlschmidt and Michelle Goodman who worked with me on this initiative.

Senior parents and students, please be reminded that additional requirements have been added if you intend to apply for a PTSA scholarship.  One of those requirements is that you need to have a minimum of 15 PTSA volunteer hours in your senior year to be considered.  You can find the complete set of requirements and the application form on our website (www.steinbrennerptsa.org
) under "PTA Links->PTSA Scholarship Information". You can get your volunteer hours through opportunities provided by the PTSA's Student Ambassadors (SA).  [You do not have to be a member of SA to volunteer.]

Our members continue to support Steinbrenner by giving of their time and volunteering as needed.  Please consider signing up to be a volunteer!  On behalf of the Steinbrenner PTSA Board of Directors, thanks for your continued support!

"A strong PTSA embodies parent involvement and parent involvement represents student success."
