Quarterly Newsletter                                                   April / May / June 2015
In This Issue

Dear Heritage Club Members,

Spring is here!  Our winter was pretty mild compared to many parts of the United States.  And we've had a lovely spring so far - the buds are popping out, a few robins are being spotted and the tractors are busy getting the land ready for spring planting!

Linda and I have just returned from our Heritage Club Peer Group with some fresh ideas for meaningful programs, events and trips. We'll be sharing more about that in our next newsletter, but before we make any plans,

we need to hear from you.

Please click here and take this survey and let us know what YOU want to hear more about from your Guthrie County State Bank Heritage Club. Everyone who completes the survey by April 27, 2015, will be entered into a drawing for $25 Chamber Bucks in either Guthrie Center or Panora.

In the meantime, please check out our upcoming events. Let us know if you have any ideas to share at heritageclub@gcsbank.com

We hope you enjoy your upcoming Easter weekend with delicious food, sunny weather and great company!

Happy Spring!

QUARTERLY SOCIAL EVENT

Our next quarterly Heritage Club Social Event will be held at the Springbrook Conservation Education Center on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.

The mission of Springbrook Conservation Education Center is promoting participation in the outdoors through education and involvement with the cooperation of individuals, schools, and organizations to improve the quality of life in Iowa and insure a legacy for future generations. We thought this was the perfect location to celebrate summer and the great outdoors!

We will have a program and refreshments will be served!  If you need directions or have questions email us at heritageclub@gcsbank.com or call either location.

Win $25 in Ch
silver-keyboard2.jpgamber Bucks!

We want to know what concerns you have about retirement, technology  and how we can make the Guthrie County State Bank Heritage Club useful for all members. Take this short Heritage Club survey by April 27 and you could win $25 in Panora or Guthrie Center Chamber Bucks!

Notice anything different in Guthrie Center?

If you've driven through Guthrie Center recently, you probably noticed a big hole being dug and chain link fencing around the northwest corner at the intersection of highways 44 and 25. By this time next year, that location will be the new home of the Guthrie Center office of Guthrie County State Bank.

We had a need to create more efficient space to continue to provide great service to our customers and looked at many possibilities to renovate our current location, which was built as a bank in the early 1900s. Plans were drawn up and after examining many different renovation scenarios, it was determined that constructing a new building would be much more cost effective. Guthrie County State Bank has owned the lot at the new location for many years.

One of our considerations was to ensure we didn't leave a gap in downtown  Guthrie Center. The great news is that the City of Guthrie Center will take over the current building as the new City Hall.

The new building will incorporate efficient spaces for our customers' banking needs and some new features such as palm-scanned secure safety deposit boxes and a community room that will be available to groups for small meetings.

The Money Bag Contains $250!

Julie Davis was not present at the February Social Event to claim her cash, so $50.00 has been added to the money bag.  Attend the June Social Event and $250.00 could be yours!

How does the money bag work? Each quarter at our social event, we draw names from the GCSB Heritage Club's full membership. However, you must be present at that social event to win!

If no one wins the prize, another $50 is added to the bag each quarter for the first three quarters of the year. In the fourth quarter only, we draw from the members present at our social event. The minimum guaranteed prize each quarter is $200.
