USTA Tennessee hosts top juniors in Murfreesboro, TN.
On March 8th and 9th USTA Tennessee held a State Training Camp at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro Tennessee. Twenty-eight of Tennessee's top juniors participated in this advanced training opportunity. These elite players had already participated in USTA Tennessee's Competitive Training Center held in Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis throughout the winter.
The camp offered education, fitness training, structured practice, and match play. In addition, players were able to develop camaraderie and friendships that will last well beyond the tennis court. While tennis was the main focus, players did enjoy a team-style dinner on Saturday night, followed by a few rounds of laser tag.
"Overall the camp was a huge success thanks to the coaches, parents and players", said Kristen Schlukebir, Director of Junior Competition for USTA Tennessee. Special thanks to coaches Karl Davies, Rob Cameron and Michael Chamberlain.

"We are delighted to award these deserving cities these grants to further their commitment to the growth of tennis and enriching their communities through tennis, education and out-reach, " said Tracy Davies, USTA Tennessee Executive Director. " We are glad to support Memphis and Chattanooga in their efforts."
The grant recipients were chosen by a grant proposal review committee comprised of USTA Southern and USTA Tennessee board members and staff.
