Recent Work

What happened to January and February? I wish I knew. I've been busy both with life and in the studio. My computers have been taken over by my husband and I just got lazy!

Slice of Life
I've sent 10 new paintings to  Gardner Colby Galleries in Naples for a show entitled "Slice of Life." I join some of my personal favorite artists for this group show which opens March 14.

The above painting is entitled "Just Desserts" and is 18x18.  Its a scene from the historic Driskill Hotel cafe in Austin. I've been enjoying painting kitchen scenes lately. Both professional chefs (there are 2 more chef scenes for this show) and domestic scenes which have been a lot of fun to explore. This one has a lot of texture as I used both brush and palette knife to create the background.

Be sure to check my weblog to see the other works as I share them.

Houston Symphony

I had the wonderful opportunity to paint behind the scenes at the Houston Symphony in early January. I painted several small works based on the images from that evening. And I have completed a large painting that is to be a gift for the conductor who is leaving the symphony after this season.
Studio News
As you can see in the upcoming events below - there isn't much coming up. And I have to say that I am relieved. I think that I could use some time to just paint what makes me happy, get new works to my galleries and explore. I'm enjoying doing some studies and sketches before working larger.

Giclee Print

There are still prints available through a couple of my galleries or from my ETSY store. The edition is printed on archival paper, measures a little larger than 16x12 inches (with a small border) and is limited to 20 prints.
