Spotlight Theatre: Sondheim's Follies in Armonk  The Spotlight Theatre presents Stephen Sondheim's 1971 hit musical, Follies at Armonk's Whippoorwill Hall. The story follows a reunion of musical revue performers from the 1930s who gather, amidst their crumbling personal lives and diminished careers, for one last performance at an old Broadway Theatre scheduled for demolition. The musical won 7 Tony Awards and introduced many songs that have become standards including "Broadway Baby", "Losing My Mind" and "I'm Still Here." Read more. |
Caramoor Roots Festival with Lucinda Williams  Lucinda Williams headlines an all-day family friendly festival of American roots music featuring eight bands performing in three venues on the Caramoor gardens and grounds and under the big tent. The rich variety of music that ranges from folk and country to blues and bluegrass, string band, gospel and early jazz provides a road map of American music from Mississippi to Appalachia, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. The Schooner Soundwaters sets sail  The Schooner Soundwaters sets sail on the Long Island Sound, from Saturday June 27 through Sunday August 2, at Stamford's Harbor Park Marina. The Schooner's 2-hour afternoon family-sails offer a hands-on educational experience for kids 5 and up. Or pack dinner and a chilled summer quaff and watch the sun set on the horizon on one of their sunset-sails. There's even two special fireworks sails on July 2 for Independence Day. Jim Brickman plays 20 years of his adult contemporary hits at the White Plains Performing Arts Center and the Turtles' Happy Together Tour, with The Association, The Grass Roots, The Buckinghams and The Cowsills hits the Tarrytown Music Hall. Sherlock Holmes: The Adventures of the Dancing Men at Lyndhurst  Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are on the case at Ridling Thorpe Manor (played by historic Lyndhurst Mansion) where Mr. Hilton Cubitt and his wife are baffled by childish drawings of little dancing men that mysteriously appear in and around his country estate. Are the strange drawings a bizarre prank, or a warning of deadly danger?
