2nd Annual Stayin' Alive 5K & Fun Run in Windmill  This event is organized by the newly formed non-profit Stayin' Alive that raises funds for North Castle First Responders. It features a 5K run followed by a fun run for kids. The Stayin' Alive 5k will be a run/walk around Windmill Club and through the Windmill neighborhood. Lasdon Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of VE and VJ Day
The Lasdon Park Arboretum and Veterans Memorial celebrates the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII with food, 1940s era music from the Gerard Carelli Orchestra, a military vehicle show in the Veterans Museum and authentic re-enactments. This event will make you feel as good as the sailor celebrating VJ Day in Times Square in the famous Alfred Eisentstadt photograph taken for Life Magazine in 1945. The house at Lasdon Park is fashioned after George Washington's Virginia home; the grounds feature a historic tree trail honoring the likes of MLK, and JFK; a Chinese Friendship Pavilion and Culture Garden, and 3 acres of rare American Chestnut trees.
