Jay Leno in Stamford  There's still tickets available for the Palace Theatre's Annual Gala event featuring a stand-up performance from one of America's favorite comedians, Jay Leno. There's even a couple of seats on the aisle available. Buy concert only tickets or sign up for the Spotlight Soiree and party with the muckety-mucks after the show. Last year's gala, featuring Jerry Seinfeld, raised over $350,000 for the Stamford Center for the Arts edu-cation programs. Bedford Village Chowder & Marching Club's Clean Up Weekend  Club volunteers come to your house on Clean Up Weekend to pick up unwanted items large and small in exchange for a cash donation to the club. The Chowder & Marching Club raises funds to support local youth programs focusing on arts and music, club and school sports, scouts, athletics, scholarship and community service. REBEL Ensemble for Baroque Music in Bedford  REBEL presents an evening of Concerti Grossi, Overtures & Concerti for winds and strings from Veracini, Handel, Telemann, & Goldberg. Bedford Fishing Deerby at Lake Marie
The Bedford Recreation Department's 15th annual Fishing Derby at Lake Marie is open to kids to age 15. Bring your own fishing rod. Spirit of the Sound  The Norwalk Aquarium's 63 foot research vessel, Spirit of the Sound, is North America's first to run on hybrid-electric power. The vessel runs silently on electric power on these 2½-hour "study cruises" on the Long Island Sound. Built in Mamaroneck, the vessel doubles the aquarium's cruise capacity and cuts diesel consumption by 75%. Marine Life Study Cruises run at 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays in May and June. More. |
