Prom Dress Drive

The Community Center of Northern Westchester's 2015 Prom Drive helps local students of limited means obtain the special outfit they need to enable them to realize their dreams of attending their prom. The Center collects dresses, tuxedos, shoes and accessories donated by people like you. A Year in the Mianus River Gorge

To celebrate Earth Day, internationally renowned photographer William Abramowicz will share photos from his year long study of the Mianus River Gorge. You will be taken on a photographic tour of an ancient and mysterious preserve and see areas of the landscape that are closed during the winter. Refreshments will be served. CSF's 21st annual Spring Benefit will be held at the Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor. The event offers cocktails, a buffet dinner and a raffle. Over the past 21 years CSF has raised over $2.25 million and funded over 200 grants and projects for Chappaqua schools including 3D printers, SMART Boards, e-Readers, Visual Arts and Fitness Center technology and more. BBC Chamber Orchestra at PAC

The BBC Concert Orchestra, the British Broadcasting Company's "house band," may be the most-heard classical ensemble in the UK. It prides itself on being a populist ensemble, playing a mix of classical, light classical, and pop music. Conducted by Poughkeepsie's Keith Lockhart, also the conductor of the Boston Pops, the orchestra is joined by 26-year-old pianist Charlie Albright, recipient of the 2014 Avery Fisher Career Grant. More PAC here.

Hélène Grimaud, one of the most celebrated pianists in all classical music, joins the Stamford Symphony as a soloist on Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor. Also on the program is: C.P.E. Bach's Symphony in F Major and Beethoven's Symphony in E-flat minor, otherwise known as Eroica. (One of our favorite pieces of music along with "China Cat/Rider" and Joan Jett's cover of Tommy James and the Shondell's "Crimson and Clover" ... "over and over".) Lots more music.

The Harvey School Hosts Drop in Day - Wed, April 22

The Harvey School

The Harvey School will host a Drop-In Day Wed, 4/22 from 9am to 11am for families exploring educational options for 2015 or 2016. Visitors meet Admissions Director William Porter, Upper School Head Phil Lazzaro and Middle School Head Brendan Byrne, who will discuss the school's academic programs. There will be a tour of the school while classes are in session.

Last year's gala, featuring Jerry Seinfeld, raised over $350,000 for the Stamford Center for the Arts edu-cation programs. Celebrating its 20th year, RIOULT Dance NY has established its place in modern dance, creating and presenting the sensual and articulate works of choreographer and company founder Pascal Rioult. Born into the modern dance tradition, Rioult, acclaimed by Anna Kisselgoff in The New York Times as having "met the challenge of comparison with George Balanchine," has created his own legacy of contemporary dance. More PAC. 
Armonk Chamber of Commerce honors Sam Morell 
Sam Morrell of the Small Town Theatre Company

The Armonk Chamber of Commerce has named Sam Morell its 2015 Citizen of the Year. The Chamber will honor Sam at a golf outing, followed by cocktails and dinner at the Whippoorwill Club on Tuesday, May 12. Sam is the founder of the Small Town Theatre Company that performs at Hergenhan Hall. The company also produces a Summer Music Series at Wampus Brook Park.
