Food author and film buff Carol Durst presents Lasse Hallstrom's Chocolat, about a woman and her daughter who open up an unusual chocolate shop across from a church in a small French town at the beginning of Lent. One by one the townspeople succumb to their sinfully delicious creations causing a deep moral crisis that prompts the Comte de Reynaud, played by Alfred Molina, to attempt to run them out of town. Paul Taylor's choreography is known for its great wit and penchant for genre studies that re-imagine historical eras like the Middle Ages, the 60s, the Depression, and World War II. Taylor danced with Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham and George Balanchine before launching his own troupe. He, in turn, has launched the careers of such choreographers as Twyla Tharp, David Parson, Laura Dean and many others. Jazz icon Charlie Lagond's new Spotlight Series, to benefit the Lagond Music School, showcases top roots acts from Columbian harp jazz to Emefe to bluegrass legend Tony Trishka coming on 3/12. The Harvey School Hosts Drop In Day
The Harvey School

The Harvey School's Drop-In Day Wed, 2/25 from 9-11am is for families exploring educational options for 2015 or 2016 enrollment. Visitors will meet Admissions Director William Porter, Upper School Head Phil Lazzaro and Middle School Head Brendan Byrne, who will speak to the school's academic programs. On Sat, 2/28 the Harvey School campus will be transformed into a family fun center. There you will find bouncy castles, carnival games and other amusements in Harvey's new gym. Plus nail and hair salons, photo ops and treats like popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, chili, chips and baked goods. All of the proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders and the All Stars Project. Plus, Mr. Met has just signed on to attend the Harvey School Carnival. He will be joined by the WHUD Fan Van crew who have a host of fun activities in store for the kids. More kids stuff.

The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk joins in the national release of the new IMAX movie Humpback Whales. Shot with IMAX 3D cameras off the shores of Alaska, Hawaii and the Kingdom of Tonga, it offers a close-up look at how these humpback whales communicate, sing, feed, play, care for their young and migrate 6,000 miles each year. You know that's a long strange trip.
