David Mamet's A Life In The Theatre

Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre On Tour presents Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre. TheNew York Yorker called Mamet's laugh-filled, behind-the-scenes look at backstage ego trips, feuds, fears, and acting tips, "a love letter to the theatre." The play was first produced at Chicago's Goodman Theatre in February 1977 and opened off-Broadway later that year. Memorable productions have starred the likes of Joe Montegna, F. Jamie Malanowski discusses his book Commander Will Cushing: Daredevil Hero of the Civil War, about this half-mad, naval prodigy and his impact on the Civil War. Superstar Violinist Midori at PAC

At the age of 11 she made her New York debut at the New York Philharnonic's New Year's Eve concert, conducted by Zubin Mehta. The same year, she signed with CBS Masterworks and her career was launched. For over 30 years she has made her mark as a charismatic performer of the violin concerto repertoire on works from Bach to Bartók. She is an Avery Fisher Prize-winner, and in 2007 United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon named her an official U.N. Messenger of Peace. Dinotopia: The Fantastical Art of James Gurney

This fascinating exhibit, that opens on February 14 at the Stanford Museum & Nature Center, features 59 original oil paintings from the New York Times best-selling Dinotopia book series by author and artist James Gurney. Dinotopia, the setting of the books, is a fictional island utopia inhabited by humans and dinosaurs who have created a complex, interdependent society. Read more.
French-American Musical Exchange in Chappaqua

The Chappaqua Orchestra's Chamber Series presents this French-American musical exchange that brings French saxophonists Nicolas Prost and Anne Lecapelain to the United States to collaborate with American saxophonist Christopher Brellochs and pianist Cynthia Peterson. Pop/jazz trumpet superstar, Chris Botti has produced four albums that reached no. 1 on The Billboard Jazz charts and his 2013 Impressions won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. He will play the Ridgefield Playhouse on Valentine's Day. Also on Valentine's Day, superstar violinist Midori, a charismatic performer of the violin concerto repertoire will perform works from Bach to Bartok at the Performing Arts Center in Purchase. Read more.
Paul Taylor Dance at PAC
Paul Taylor Dance
Paul Taylor's choreography is known for its great wit and penchant for genre studies that re-imagine historical eras like the Middle Ages, the 60s, the Depression, and World War II. Taylor danced with Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham and George Balanchine before launching his own troupe. He, in turn, has launched the careers of such choreographers as Twyla Tharp, David Parson, Laura Dean and many others. In 2011 PAC was the site of the world premiere of his critically acclaimed 
Gossamer Gallants, a colorful and witty exploration of the mating rituals of the housefly. More PAC here.
