A Taste of Westchester in Armonk and North Salem  WCC's A Taste of Westchester cooking classes are coming fast and furious. On Thursday, The Beehive in Armonk kicks off Oktoberfest weekend with some inside tips on making sauerbraten, knodel, and rotkohl. Next Tuesday, Jean Georges protege Chef Beck Bolender of 121 Restaurant in North Salem prepares slow baked salmon with potato planks and pumpkin cheesecake. On Thursday, 11/6, Chris DeCicco pairs craft beers with vegetable risotto, pan seared scallops and a stuffed portobello mushroom at DeCiccos in Armonk. Freud's Last Session in Croton Falls  The Schoolhouse Theatre's production of Freud's Last Session opens a 4 week run on Friday. The play, by Mark St, Germain, is set just weeks before Freud's suicide when, on the eve of World War II, he invites a little-known Oxford professor, C.S. Lewis to his home in London. What follows is a moving and humorous debate on the meaning of life, the nature of good and evil, and the existence of God. Directed by Sean Hagerty. Soiree at the Rosen House: Caramoor's Black & White Ball  It's the event of the season. Join Caramoor for an evening of dinner, and dancing at the historic Rosen House. Masks are encouraged and, of course, black and white dress. Proceeds will benefit Caramoor, the Rosen House, and the Young Artists Mentoring and Arts-in-Education Programs. Chappaqua Antiques Show
The 46th annual Chappaqua Antiques Show offers merchandise from over 50 dealers, an on-site appraiser, design consultant, gourmet café, homemade desserts, and raffles. Crafts at Purchase for The Performing Arts Center:  This benefit for the Performing Arts Center is produced by ArtRider Productions, creators of Crafts at Lyndhurst, and The Rhinebeck Arts Festival. Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson. Phil Lesh, The Mavericks  This week's music: Ian Anderson performs his new album, Homo Erraticus, and Tull hits at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thurs. The Mavericks, the polyrhythmic Cuban country band (think Richie Valens with a Talking Heads rhythm section) are in Tarrytown Music Hall on Friday and Saturday. The Vienna ensemble, Il Giardino d'Amore, perform Bach and Handel in a Bedford Chamber Concerts presentation at St, Matthews Church on Wednesday. Halloween Night: Phil Lesh & Friends at The Capitol  It wouldn't be Halloween without The Grateful Dead. Or at least Phil Lesh & Friends at Port Chester's Capitol Theatre. The Capitol was one of the Dead's favorite theaters and their February 23, 1971 concert there is considered "historic" by Dead Heads. The set list that night included three of their most famous jams, "China Cat/Rider," "Truckin'/The Other One" and "Not Fade Away/Goin' Down The Road." Suzanne Vega at the Performing Arts Center  A leading member of the 1980's folk revival, Suzanne Vega's recent album, Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles, peaked at no. 5 on Billboard's Folk Music charts. Vega is best known for her hit songs "Luka" and "Tom's Diner" from her album Solitude Standing.
