Small Town Theatre Company

This 1966 musical from Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt (The Fantastics) follows the trials and tribulations of Mary and Michael Snow's marriage from 1895 to 1945. The original production, directed and choreographed by Gower Champion with Mary Martin and Robert Preston, ran on Broadway for 560 shows. Preston won the 1967 Tony Award for Best Performance By a Leading Actor in a Musical. Fri-Sat: 9/26-7: 8pm (Katonah Village Library) Fri-Sat, 10/10-11: 8pm. South Pacific

The 1949 production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific, based on James Michener's Pulitzer Prize-winning book Tales of the South Pacific, won 10 Tony Awards and set the stage for the 1958 film with Mitzi Gaynor and Rossano Brazzi. The score contains many of Broadway's most recognizable songs,including "Some Enchanted Evening," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair," "I'm In Love With a Wonderful Guy," and "There Is Nothing Like a Dame." Thurs-Sun: 9/25-11/30: (Westchester Broadway Theatre)  More Theatre, Dance & Comedy.

Branford Marsalis kicks off PAC season on September 27 
Branford Marsalis at PAC

NEA Jazz Master, Grammy-winner and Tony Award-nominee, Branford Marsalis kicks off PAC's new season with an evening of saxophone jazz on Sat, 9/27. Marsalis received initial acclaim playing with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and brother Wynton's quintet. He has performed with Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, and Sonny Rollins. More jazz on PAC's schedule includes The Preservation Hall Jazz Band with R&B master Allen Toussaint, whose songs have been covered by The Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, Glen Campbell, Ernie K. Sarah Bishiop Bushwack 10K

This challenging 10K trail race in Mountain Lakes Park in N. Salem, that benefits Northern Westchester Hospital, crosses streams, circles the lakes that give the park its name and takes runners over Bailey Mountain - Westchester's highest point. There is also a 1.5 mile walk/run event called Sarah's Scramble. Sun, 9/28: 9:00am, 8:30 for the scramble. (Mountain Lakes Park, 201 Hawley Rd., N. Salem; Registration is still open.

Two weeks left to sail the Schooner Soundwaters

Just two more weekends left to sial the Long Island sound on the Schooner Soundwaters out of Stamford. The weekend weather forecast calls for 80 degree temps and zero chance of rain. There are afternoon environmental education sails on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4pm, and Sunset Sails from 5-7pm. The last public sails are on Saturday, 10/4. Martha Clarke's Chéri at PAC on September 28
Amy Irving at PAC Martha Clarke's interdisciplinary work fuses dance, theatre and music to tell a May-December romance in Belle Epoque Paris. Featuring American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Herman Cornejo, prima ballerina assoluta Allesandra Ferri, Academy Award nominee and Obie Award winner Amy Irving, Sarah Rothenberg (piano) and text by Tony Award- winning playwright Tina Howe (Painting Churches). The NYTs called it "gorgeous" when it premiered at the Signature Theatre in 2013.

Chappaqua Orchestra

The Chappaqua Orchestra presents the Lyons Chamber Players in a program of music by Brahms and Grieg. Also in Chappaqua, Mark Kramer of Susan Lawrence Gourmet Foods' Ars Antiqua Concert Series presents a special artist recital showcasing Ann Briggs (Baroque flute) and Leon Schlhase (harpsichord) in a program of Bach sonatas. Ms. Briggs performed with the New York Philharmonic for 20 years. Mr. Schelhase is a recipient of the American Bach Soloists' Goldberg Prize. Chappaqua Children's Book Festival & Bake Sale

The Chappaqua Children's Book Festival gained notoriety drawing a crowd of over 4,000 and rave reviews from the Huff Post. The event features book sales from over 80 popular children's book authors - most of whom are onsite, doing signings and book readings for the kids. Including, a special visit from Gloria Kann, co-author and Illustrator of the NY Times #1 best selling Pinkalicious books between 1-4pm. The Great Chappaqua Bake Sale provides the snacks at the festival with baked goods and raffle prizes donated by families, restaurants, bakeries and merchants in the Chappaqua area. The bake sale has raised over $51,000 for No Kid Hungry in the past four years. Both events run on Sat, 9/27: 10am-4pm.
