"If everybody had an ocean, Across the USA, Then everybody'd be surfiing, Like Califor-n-i-a."  The Beach Boys are joined by Felix Cavaliere's Rascals and The Lovin' Spoonful at Jones Beach Theater on Sat, 7/5. More Independence Day weekend music includes Patty LuPone, Sybarite 5, and Pops, Patriots & Fireworks at Caramoor. The Ridgefield Playhouse is your best bet for popular music with John Hiattt and Robert Cray on 7/3 and Natalie Merchant on 7/6. Special Fireworks sail on the Schooner Soundwaters 
Schooner Soundwaters The Schooner Soundwaters offers public sails for the summer. There are family sails that offer hands-on environmental education activities for kids 5 and up during the day. And sunset sails that are perfect for packing a dinner and your favorite quaff in the evening. There are even two special fireworks sails for Independence Day on July 3 and 5. Patty LuponeCaramoor's Pop, Patriots and Fireworks celebrates the Fourth with Broadway star Ryan Silverman and the Westchester Symphonic Winds in a program of Sousa, Tchaikovsky and show tunes. Patti LuPone brings her new show Faraway Places to Caramoor on 7/5. Chamber group Sybarite 5 takes on Mozart and Radiohead on 7/3 and Jeffrey Kahane and the St. Luke's Chamber Orchestra perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring on 7/6

John Jay Independence Day Fair 
George WashingtonGeorge Washington will read the Declaration of Independence at the John Jay Independence Day Fair - for those of you who think that history still has a place in a Fourth of July celebration. Okay so it won't actually be George Washington. It will be some Friend of John Jay dressed up like George Washington but it will be the real Declaration of Independence. Plus, colonial games, hay rides, sheep herding, blacksmith demonstrations, horses, live music, a bake sale and more colonial era activities.

Natalie Merchant, John Hiatt & Robert Cray  
Natalie Merchant 10,000 Maniacs alum Natalie Merchant's tour to support her new album, Natalie Merchant, kicks off this week. This is her sixth solo album and her first in 13 years. You can see her  at the Ridgefield Playhouse on 7/6, the Tarrytown Music Hall on 7/19 and at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on 7/20. Summer Concert Series in Chappaqua 
Summer Music in ChappaquaBreezemont Day Camp's Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce offers four outdoor music concerts at the gazebo on Recreation Field every Wednesday in July at 7pm. The series kicks off on 7/9 with Chappaqua's Got Talent featuring local bands Natterjack Toad, Music in Chappaqua, Lagond Honors Band and The Velcrows. On 7/16 the Chappaqua Orchestra performs summer classics with guest clarinetist Eric Drucker. The Don Dupont Big Band remembers the big band music of the 40s on 7/23. And Chappaqua's own Bruce Springsteen tribute band, Tramps Like Us finishes up on 7/30.

Wampus Brook Park MusicThe Small Town Theatre Company presents Summer Concerts in Armonk's Wampus Brook Park. The lineup includes the blues and rock band Dynamite Di and Destriuction on 7/12; Broadway favorites from The Hager Trio on 7/26; the a capella groups Chances Are and Our Town on 8/9; and the NYC jazz group The Swingaroos will perform golden oldies from Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw and Tommy Dorsey on 8/26.

Pleasantville Music FestivalThe Pleasantville Music Festival offers 13 folk acts and a kids area with face painting, music and games. This family friendly "Woodstock in Westchester" attracts top roots festival performers. 2014's headliners include Ian Hunter & The Rant Band, and Amy Helm & The Handsome Stranger. Ian Hunter, the former frontman for Mott the Hoople is best known for his solo hit "Cleveland Rocks". Amy Helm (Levon Helm's daughter) is a past member of The Levon Helm Band, and Ollabelle.

Ann Hampton Callaway and sister Liz at HSC Gala at NCPL
Ann Hampton CallawayJazz headliner and Tony Award nominee for her role in the Broadway musical Swing!, Ann Hampton Callaway will join her Broadway star sister Liz at the Hudson Stage Company's gala at Whippoorwill Hall in Armonk on July 13. The Hudson Stage Company, formerly hosted at PACE University, will take up residence at Whippoorwill Hall at the North Castle Public Library. Their first production will debut in October and they will kick off with their gala evening called Home Show that will include a cocktail reception at Restaurant North.
